ENTRY DESCRIPTION
At dusk, people light up local lamps and candles to drive away the darkness and pray for the light. They have traveled thousands of miles to the Holy River for a pilgrimage to wash away the dirt and get the blessing of God. The Diwali Festival of Varanasi is an important festival in India, when the goddess Lakshmi arrive once a year. She represents wealth, wisdom, and luck, and she is also a symbol of beauty and vitality. (Photo taken in Varanasi)

Liang Li (Queenie) is a photographer, Asian culture recorder and experiencer. She got the distinction of Licentiate (LRPS) from Royal Photographic Society and the membership of Photographic Society of America. She has won several international photography competition awards. She has photographed many times in Kashmir. With a female perspective, she takes a deep dive in various beliefs and local culture, and interprets the diversity of Asia civilization with traditional visual skills. In her works, she tries to demonstrate the similarities and differences from the origin of the Non- western religion and philosophy. Liang Li has been photographing in India, Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar and China. She lives and works in Beijing.
