ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Portrait of a Black Lives Matter activist at a protest in Phoenix, AZ (June 2020)
"I AM" is part of an introspective documentation of the Black Lives Matter movement that surged to the forefront of American consciousness after yet another murder of a Black person, this time on camera, in broad daylight, in public, for nearly 10 minutes. This photo prefaces an intimate documentary portrait series that gives voice to how activists within the BLM movement both feel & see themselves within the context of the movement & the current American experience.
