The Hole and the Skin (El Agujero y la Piel) by Josue David Moreno Cabrero (Spain)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
The last works that I have created have the body as the protagonist. "The hole and the skin", the work that concerns us, is part of this process of both philosophical and artistic discovery.
The body is the center of a study in which the fragmentation results in the fusion with natural elements, with organic elements and textures, which with the naked eye we cannot perceive in the most direct reality but which, nevertheless, we are indissolubly united and we owe each other as material beings born of the earth.
In a context in which nature has ceased to be understood as the sustenance of our humanity, the work paradoxically intends to expose this very nature, showing models that are not entirely human or abstract energy, but rather hybrids in a no-place (neutral backgrounds) that carry a certain melancholy for not materializing in an identity space of existence.
Due to this starting point the techniques used are mixed. On the one hand, I start from photography to represent the most hyper-realistic aspect of the concept, on the other hand, through digital techniques, I generate textures and organic elements that are born and co-merge with the portrayed body, techniques that are sometimes very close to painting. traditional.
For the finish, and as a second layer of abstraction, I use some resources from collage or cubism to generate in the viewer a feeling of strangeness and discomfort that empathizes with the sensitivity of the character in the scene.
AUTHOR
I´m a Spanish experimental filmmaker and digital artist. My technique is very transversal, encompassing different techniques from digital painting, photography, animation, motion graphics and cinema. My style could be defined as a mixture of cubism, collage and surrealism, artistic movements that I use to represent themes related especially to individual identity, the deconstruction of the human body and the enigmatic nature of memory. I also like to explore other topics such as the absurd, nihilism and the search for the meaning of existence, often from a comic perspective.
These are topics that excite me since my university studies in Philosophy and that I have wanted to capture from the digital image as well as in my writings, since I am also passionate about literature and music.
On the other hand, I have been teaching audiovisuals for a long time and I disseminate knowledge related to digital art and crypto art through my own YouTube channel.
