Portrait: Honorable Mention 2021 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
The portrait is part of a bigger series, called "Not Conceptional: Life".
The Series accompanies and portrays nine artists who move beyond stereotypical and social role models. Instead, they are guided by their own convictions. Self-empathy is a great strength. It helps us feel more human and act more socially, according to the following statement:
"Unrest, conflict, and war begin in the inside of us.
When we understand that we are allowed to act outwardly
as we feel on the inside, we are balanced.
In the truest sense of the word.
When we are able to perceive our needs and fulfill them,
we fill ourselves with joy, gratitude, relaxation, security, ...
And are immediately able to create all this outside of ourselves as well."
The portrait shows the transrapper Saphira. She says about herself:
“Since my gender reassignment surgery, I want to demonstrate with my music that everything is attainable. In my songs, I address what I have experienced and keep experiencing: I sing about myself, about my mental illness, my alcohol and drug addiction that I have overcome, my criminal past as well as of my views on society. With my personal story, I want to
encourage people to believe in their dreams – because no dream is too big to achieve.“
Two years ago, even before I owned a camera, I decided to work as a photographer. I wrote the phrase: "I am a photographer" on my wall. Twenty-four months later, this has become an undeniable truth. I am nown managing professional jobs and campagins with a big team.
Now my resolution is: "I am an internationally recognized photographic artist".
Help me achieve this by awarding my work.
