Wildlife: Honorable Mention 2021 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
I love storks, and how they seem to resemble an ancient curator of the modern world, in a weird way. Each wrinkle on their skin represents wisdom, timeless history and events they’ve witnessed since the dawn of time. This individual here is a male milky stork I named Tony, He is a recurring subject of my black and white mini series when I first held the camera over 5 years ago. The series explores the clashing relations of light and shadow, and was a roller coaster of trial and failure. Over the years, I've realized how this bird here changed my approach and understanding in photography. The important bit is how much you’ve grown as a person while at it, and how much value you’ve shared to the world.
