ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This image was taken from above (from a balcony) in the late afternoon in Rio de Janeiro, before the advent of drone photography. The long shadows formed an interesting contrast with the subject matter and created an abstraction of people playing futebol on the beach.

AUTHOR
I am an amateur photographer having started shooting black and white film from the age of about 10. In high school I was able to fully explore the full spectrum of film developing and darkroom techniques. In adulthood, and with the advent of digital cameras (and the 'digital darkroom'), I continue to enjoy photography - primarily in the black and white genre. Today still shoot a mix of medium format film alongside medium format digital.
