ENTRY DESCRIPTION
The Ara Pacis Mundi (World Altar of Peace) of Medea (IT) is a monumental complex created in 1951 to symbolically commemorate soldiers who died in all wars.
Inside this altar, an urn in wood and bronze bears the inscription "L'odio genera morte, l'amore produce vita" ("hatred generates death, love produces life"). The urn holds the soil of 800 war cemeteries in Italy, including foreign cemeteries. Yes, you read it right: 800 war cemeteries in Italy alone.
Taken on 4x5 Ilford FP4+ film with a Shen Hao TZ45-IIA with a Rodentock Grandagon 90mm
