Architecture: Honorable Mention 2022 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
The Grand Palais Éphémère in Paris is a temporary building that was built in 2021 and currently serves as a replacement for the Grand Palais, which is being renovated. It stands on Champs de Mars, opposite the Eiffel tower. After using it for the 2024 summer olympics, it will be dismantled again, so it will only exist for approximately 3 years. I took the photo on a clear day in April 2022 and found it interesting because of the Eiffel tower mirroring in the building.
AUTHOR
I am an enthusiastic amateur photographer. I have always been fascinated by large photographs where you can see every detail. Many years I was working with a large format camera (Toyo Field), and I had my own darkroom where I enlarged both black & white and color photographs. Now that digital photography is capable of producing even higher quality images I mainly use a Fujifilm GFX100S medium format digital camera.
I have been working a lot on black & white photographs recently. I aim at producing beautiful and touching pictures that are different from the massive amount of photos that we are bombarded with in every day life.
