Conceptual: Honorable Mention 2022 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Taken at a small local pond in the Texas Panhandle early in the morning. The composition is one that I saw while packing up my gear and has become one of my favorites. Not simply because of the photograph, but for what that moment meant to me, and the feeling of it.
AUTHOR
I took up photography wanting to capture what I saw while out on long bike rides. What started as quick little shots, soon turned into actively planning when to go out, where to be and how to capture the composition. From there, it quickly progressed into spending more time taking photographs than actually riding my bike; so I realized I needed to separate the two.
There is something unique, something extremely special about photography for me. I once heard it said that each photograph captures a moment in time, a moment that has never happened before, and a moment that will never happen again. This is true in all forms of photography, from the nature/landscape photographers like me, to the photographers strictly taking portraits in the studio. And for me, being able to capture that single moment in time is something uniquely special, and an absolute blessing.
