A museum, a stair, lights and a lady in scene. All the components of a mystery novel together to build a story around the composition, why was she there? was she just a tourist or perhaps a vision when the journey comes to the end at the Louvre?
AUTHOR
With almost six decades behind me, I formalized my photographic instinct only in the second decade of the 21st century. My passion for photography is fueled by artistic observation of my surroundings, which has been an inspiration even in recent times of pandemic.
For me, photography is a visual language as well as a way of artistic expression, which has allowed me to put a creative heritage that has existed for generations in my family. For example, my grandfather Manuel Gómez Pérez was a portrait photographer in Puerto Montt, my uncle Gastón Gómez Gómez was a renowned painter of the beautiful landscapes of southern Chile (especially Angelmó), my cousin Juan Carlos Gómez Zúñiga is a prominent watercolorist in Valdivia and my nephew Edo García is a professional photographer in Spain.
My main field of development is an atypical combination of architecture photography with urban photography, which has mainly materialized in captures that highlight aged textures, powerful colors and unobserved geometries in architecture. It motivates me to find different perspectives, volumes and colors for the objects and places that surround me.
