Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2022 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
I took this image on kunanyi/Mount Wellington, Tasmania, Australia in early summer, when strong easterly weather generates sea-fog which engulfs the mountain range for days on end.
This scene shows the aftermath of a ravaged landscape, tenaciously revegetating after the catastrophic 1967 bush fires that destroyed large swaths of southern Tasmania.
After more than half a century, the huge Eucalypt trees incinerated at the time, remain as giant sentinels, serving as a reminder for all to heed. This image tries to capture the hope that the new generation of trees represents.
