Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2022 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
As a drone photographer I love looking for interesting shapes and angles, seeing the world in a way that most don't get to see. Just outside of Death Valley I found these ancient petrified sand dunes which, when seen from above, look like one of those old school relief maps with the displacement bumps.
AUTHOR
I have been a hobbyist photographer all my life, generally feeling like I want to capture the magic I see around me, take it home, and share it with others.
The past two years I have been dealing with a severe chronic illness which leaves me with lots of time on my hands. In addition, due to the nature of the illness, I have needed to spend time out in remote desert areas. In these locations, and with time on my hands, I have returned to photography as a way to capture my experience, document my healing journey, and share my story.
