Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2022 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
The photo was taken at the Stokksnes Pennisula in Iceland. Heavy storm finished just a couple hours before and the Aurora forecast did not give much hope but when you are in such a place for a very short time, it's always worth going out and hoping for the best. Most of the time only a narrow bow of the northern lights was present but for a couple of minutes Aurora gained its strength and started dancing over the Vestrahorn mountain range creating this beautiful spectacle. This photo was my dream to come true.
It's a panorama taken from two horizontal photos. Apart from standard post processing in Lightroom and stitching both photos, I removed a couple of stronger lines of light created as a mirror effect in the water. After stitching, I needed to fill in corners of the image (not representing Aurora).
