Lone Bird, Mississippi Gulf Coast, 2021 by Jonathan Knight (United States)
AUTHOR
I am an internationally-awarded black & white landscape photographer with over 15 years of experience. Educated as an architect and urban planner, I worked my way through university as a freelance sports photojournalist where my work was featured by leading national news publishers including The Associated Press, USA Today, and Kansas City Star. Prior to becoming a fine art photographer, I worked as an architect for leading-edge designers while living in New York City, Rotterdam (The Netherlands), New Orleans, and Aspen (Colorado).
In 2020, after a series of personal and professional burnouts and increasingly poor mental health, I transitioned away from full-time architecture to rejoin the photography world and start my fine art business. Because of this mental health history I am proud to give back to this cause and others close to my heart.
In 2021, I won 9 international awards including 1st Place in the ND Photo Awards Fine Art Landscape category. My most recent work has appeared in The Chania International Photo Festival (Chania, Greece), North Carolina Museum of Art, Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art (Altoona, PA), R Gallery (Boulder, CO), and Treat Gallery (Brooklyn, NY). I also have permanent installations in the Denver area.
After many years afield and afoot, I am now rooted in beautiful Denver, Colorado.
