Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2022 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
I took this image at 1,100 meters above sea level on kunanyi/Mount Wellington, Hobart, Australia. It was early October (Spring) - generally an unpredictable time of year weather wise. I pre-visualized these shots months earlier and scouted an appropriate vantage point from where to capture my images, once the right conditions prevailed.
After three days of whiteout conditions, a freshening sea breeze began to disperse the thick fog, revealing small vignettes of the 180-million-year-old Dolerite rock formations which make up the mountain range. Each scene lasted mere seconds, as I looked on from my vantage point.
The ever-changing conditions provided an opportunity to ponder on the metaphor for the fleeting moments in life.
