Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2022 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Taken in the early hours on a cold, clear Saturday morning at Whitby. I set up my camera on a tripod to the right hand side of the slipway as I wanted to capture an image that incorporated the solidity of the sea defence. Shooting in Black and White allowed the detail in the stone to stand out against the soft sea. A long exposure allowed me to achieve this effect.
AUTHOR
I am an amateur photographer from Leeds. I have been interested in photography ever since I went on a colleague trip to Barcelona and happened to be the student without an SLR camera. After seeing the quality of the pictures they were taking I know I had to get one. The following Christmas I received a canon camera. I enjoy the creative process when taking and developing an image. I hope to inspire people to get out and enjoy the landscape.
