Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2022 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
It's hard to take a bad picture at Bryce National Park, but I like looking around to find shapes and angles others might not have seen or captured in the same way. After a little hike I found this one pinnacle just as the sun was setting, and I loved how the top was lit while the BG and surrounding rocks were obscured in shadow.
AUTHOR
I have been a hobbyist photographer all my life, generally feeling like I want to capture the magic I see around me, take it home, and share it with others.
The past two years I have been dealing with a severe chronic illness which leaves me with lots of time on my hands. In addition, due to the nature of the illness, I have needed to spend time out in remote desert areas. In these locations, and with time on my hands, I have returned to photography as a way to capture my experience, document my healing journey, and share my story.
