Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2022 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
On a beautiful morning at the Mesquite Dunes in Death Valley NP, the dunes seemed like waves of a tumultuous sea made of sand. I decided to shoot a panoramic image to capture this sea in all its glory.
AUTHOR
I was born 28 years ago in a small town in Greece. Even though I had strong ties to photography, due to my mother being a photographer, it wasn't until I was 17 that I picked up a camera. Starting from film allowed me to understand the nuances of light better, making the switch to digital after a few years. My main inspiration has changed with time, starting with strong, imposing landscape shots, before evolving to wildlife and quiet, subdued images. I am a firm believer in black and white photography as the quintessential medium with which that fleeting temptress, light, evokes so much emotion.
