// My poetry on this moment in time:

Here on the water of the Otheense Creek, I closed my eyes for a moment and imagined the once present vast grasslands across the water. Grasslands that were once inhabited by many known, and yet to discover species. A realm of yesteryear.

Covered by dark gray clouds and a reflection of human existence my image is now while looking across the water drawn out of stone, stone and more stone. It is here where the farm now reminds me of how it once was. It is one of the many forgotten pages in our history. 'Another horizon'.

// About the Otheense Kreek:
The Otheense Kreek is a creek in Zeelandic Flanders. The creek is named after the village of Othene that has since been swallowed by the city Terneuzen (there are still parts of the village in the creek). The creek once started as the Notense Trench, an outlet of the river named The Western Scheldt (history: de Honte).

// About this moment:
In the past years the land has become more and more of value for project developers to building houses than for keeping it as the value of nature. With my eyes and the camera as an instrument I witnessed how the environment changed in the last 14 years. This is for me in black and white a moment frozen in time. The farmhouse on the left is still standing and from there to the right houses became a new horizon.
