Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2022 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Photographic work:
Lake Chiemsee in Bavaria is a very busy place on its shores, the first snow puts this seaside resort into a quiet winter sleep.
Author:
My name is Ralf Gebhardt, I live in the south of Germany and came self-taught to photography, with first experiences in event and travel photography. As a result, a decelerated work in nature began, from which my focus on photographic work in black and white developed.
Monochrome photography is exciting, opens up scope for thought, multiple readings and is enormously timeless. Whether art is created in the end is secondary, what matters is that the images trigger something in us. ( www.monochrome-fineart.de )
AUTHOR
My name is Ralf Gebhardt, I am from Germany and was born in 1964 in Leipzig, since then my curiosity for the next challenge drives me. Over the time I have made many interesting experiences in different professions, I live in the south of Munich and discovered photography in 2010 and gained first experiences in event and travel photography.
I consider myself an amateur photographer and those who studied it are the professionals, but over time I got serious about photography. As an assistant in a photo studio I learned all the basics and began to work decelerated in nature. An enormous enthusiasm for black and white developed, it became a passion and a way of life. Black and white is powerful in its graphic impact, concentrated in its reading and remains forever unmatched timeless. I let myself be guided by nature, because it is the beautiful, fleeting or abstract images of nature whose charm always fascinates us.
With the aim of inviting people to immerse themselves in the images and go on a journey of discovery to discover the fine details with their interplay of light and shadow. That they relax and perhaps invent their own story to it or generate new ideas.
