ENTRY DESCRIPTION
A lock down project using a makeshift home studio to explore the concept of cut flowers being both the subject and the light source. Tulips lend themselves to the idea of being a light source.
AUTHOR
Born in the United Kingdom and living in Melbourne Australia David Williams is a passionate photographer always looking to push the boundaries of his knowledge and skill. As a result of pestering his grandfather to use his camera, David received his first 'handed down' dusty box camera at 8 years old. But it was not until he purchased his first 'proper' camera ten years later after saving diligently for a number of years that he totally fell in love with photography. David still has the very first picture that he ever took - a grainy black and white image of a white sports car crossing a misty farmer's field at an agricultural field day. David was totally hooked. Black and white has remained a strong influence since this first emotive photograph.
"For me, photography and specifically the exploration of light is a journey that I am on with no specific destination. I can be captured by the light of the moment, or have a creative idea in my mind that I will process and reprocess until I am either satisfied or in awe of the experience. It is only when shooting that things happen!
My goal is to be myself, creative and adventurous, improving a little part of other people's lives with photographs that sometimes entertain or invoke feelings similar to what I experience when I create them."
