ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Sunday 30th of January 2022. Fifty years after Bloody Sunday, when British troops killed 14 innocent people in the streets of Derry, Northern Ireland. Half a century later these sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, are carrying the pictures of their beloved in the streets of the city where they were killed.
AUTHOR
Peter Vandermeersch has been working as a journalist in Brussels, Paris and New York before editing De Standaard (Belgium) and NRC Handelsblad (The Netherlands). Now he is publisher of the biggest Irish Newspaper company, Mediahuis Ireland, which is publshing The Irish Independent, The Sunday Independent, The Sunday World, The Belfast Telegraph and a dozen of local newspapers in Ireland.
In his head Peter is a writer. In his heart a photographer.
