AUTHOR
Born in 1973, Mahmud Tareq Hassan Khan is a northern Norway-based art photographer. Through education, Dr. Khan got doctoral degrees in Pharmacology and MBA in management. Since 2000, Dr. Khan worked mainly in academia for research & teaching. He started photography in 1987 when he was in grade 8. His recently passed away father then gifted him a Yashica (Model: Electro 35) analog camera. That was the beginning. He is mainly a self-taught photographer; yet learning every day new things, techniques, etc., through trial & error. Of course, millions of content from the internet (mainly YouTube), blogs, books, journals, magazines, etc., helped Khan immensely.
Last few years Khan converted his passion into a sort of profession, and so far, he doesn’t charge any money for any shooting. Khan mainly works on people, streets, nature, landscapes, abstract, and of course travel. His artworks involve lenses and recording media are cameras. He is obsessed with B&W photography but is not limited to it. Khan shoots only uncompressed lossless raw. Currently, he’s using a Nikon full-frame (Model: Nikon Z7), a Leica full-frame (Model: Leica Q2 with fixed 28mm lens), a Fujifilm medium format (Model: Fujifilm GFX 100s) & an APS-C (Model: Fujifilm X100V), camera bodies, and lots of different prime and zoom lenses.
Khan travels a lot, both due to his work as well as for vacations. He shoots when he sees something interesting in his path and very likely he shoots candid. Khan doesn’t have any fixed projects currently. He shoots and if believes something he gets interesting in his digital celluloid, tries to put them into some groups or some kind of projects.
