Vitruvian Man, Venice Beach, California, 2022 by Hillary Greene-Pae (United States)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Venice Beach, California is a cornucopia of street performers. This physically fit man would roll about on an oversized hoop while pivoting to and fro and even upside down. He reminded me of the famous drawing that Leonardo DaVinci had created of a man, spread eagle with multiple hands and legs, in a perfectly drawn circle. DaVinci was referencing to the harmony of man with nature in honor of ancient Roman architect Vitruvius.
