ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Strasbourg, morning. Young man reclining his head.
Ordinary scenes can become extraordinary with the light of morning and afternoon, during the hours of the long shadows. Shadows are related to silent pictures which are close to the idea of timelessness. The setting, different at every hour of the day, plays the same role as the scene at the theatre and is as important as the subject.
The relation between light and shadow, silence, timelessness, subject and background, are my favourite themes.
