ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This is Craig, the largest of the remaining big tuskers. Amboseli is in the midst of a drought and this image represents how he spends his day. Peacefully moving across the arid savanna but having to scratch for every bit of food he can find. Here he's tearing up a small clump of grass and roots. Just one very small mouthful of the 170kg he needs to eat each day.
AUTHOR
I was interested in photography as a teenager and took it up again after retiring. I do mostly wildlife and travel photography. I've become very interested in the gradations of light which are possible with black and white.
