AUTHOR
Denis grew up in rural County Tipperary, Ireland, where the fields and woodlands around his home sparked a lifelong love of nature. When he wasn’t outside exploring, he was indoors captivated by Sir David Attenborough documentaries, which opened his eyes to the wider world.
In 2008, a trip to Argentina ignited a deeper passion for travel and wildlife, soon followed by a year-long journey across Africa from Cairo to Cape Town. Days tracking gorillas, long bus rides through deserts, and safaris across the savannah strengthened his desire to explore and document the natural world through photography.
Trained as an engineer, Denis balanced his profession with photography for years. After moving to the United States in 2016, he worked in construction until 2025, when he decided to pursue photography full time.
Alaska, which he has visited annually for many years, has become central to his work. Its vast wilderness, dramatic landscapes, and iconic wildlife provide endless inspiration and challenge him to capture the raw beauty of the natural world.
Through his images, Denis strives to document authentic moments of animal behavior and highlight the fragile connection between wildlife and their habitats. His goal is to share the wonder of these places and inspire others to respect and protect the creatures and landscapes that make our planet extraordinary.
