ENTRY DESCRIPTION
A riveting, black & white wildlife photograph of a Burrowing Owl (Athene cunicularia). Rather than burrowing into the ground, this tiny owl had made its home from two, old discarded tires adjacent to an agricultural field in Medina County, Texas; west of San Antonio. The slow, rising sun is illuminating the subject from behind, accentuating it's large pupils and subsequent reflection in the eyes.
