Abstract: Honorable Mention 2022 (professional)
Songline No. 14 by roland blum (Liechtenstein)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Songlines is dedicated to the Etosha Pan in the north of Namibia.
The Etosha Pan covers 4760 square kilometers and is visible even from space.
To be able to orientate oneself in this abstract landscape from the air one has to
create a mind map, linking key locations and sites in the form of traces and patterns.
A combination of long and tedious planning, intuition and a good portion of luck are
some of the factors needed, to be in the right place at the right time for the landscape
to share its secret treasures.
The result are silent Songlines in form of visual poems - a tribute of this incredible
and unique landscape.

Since then aerial photography became my main subject. 80% of my photographic work has consisted of aerial photography in the abstract landscape field. Some of roland blum's essential works are presented in his online gallery www.rolandblum.com
