Architecture: Honorable Mention 2022 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Kirn Shimhoon has captured rnughly :200 Korean pavilions in his pictures while traveling every corner of the nation Nujeong is a.term deriving
from nugak(樓閣) and jeongja (亭子). This type of building was usually set up in a place
with superb natural scenery or a wide-open view. Nugak were generally built in a two-story structure to ensure a wide view while jeongja were normally set in a one-story
structure with a n upper floor. Nugak were often used as a space for collective discipline while jeongja were usually used as a space of individual discipline. As such, nujeong were regarded as a structure with a space in which one or many could enjoy the arts and cultivate their spirit. Nujeong are a type of structure that appeared not only in Korea but also in China and Japan where they boast different properties depending on the coun-try. While Chinese pavilions overwhelm nature and appear authoritative, and have an ex-tensive scale similar to that of a castle and Japanese pavilions were often built to be used as a tearoom in a garden and were set up for ornamental purposes, Korean pavilions are nestled in nature and prioritize harmony with the environment without processing nature artificially. In terms of function and role, the most important thing when it comes to a pavilion is the location where it is built. A pavilion is a structure that should be completed in harmony with its surrounding nature instead of disclosing its dignity by itself.
AUTHOR
My name is Kim Sim Hoon.
Born in Yeoju in 1959, he is based in his hometown.
I have a stubbornness that doesn't easily follow fashion. Throw away handy digital photos
I prefer to work with complex, sluggish analog large black and white films.
I like new and novelties. I have a strong desire to know what I do not know.
If you think it's worth the challenge, don't hesitate to look for something old.
My excitement about pavilion and sperm is felt in the photograph.
My patience with photography is extraordinary.
If you're not satisfied, there's the patience to look for and find the end.
Looking back at the spring and winter,
If you don't like it, change the sun and find it again.
“Would it be a needle someday if you go without stopping?”
The sword of the mind is sharpened by the mirror of the two hundred.
The same is true for darkroom work.
According to the record, there were more than 1,700 sperm
There are currently 270 registered cultural properties and 300 unregistered cultural properties.
It is said to remain. The filming began in 2008 and has taken 250 sperm across the country.
I'm not a full-time writer, but I want to record sperm with records.
My current job is to continue my career with a large van.
