ENTRY DESCRIPTION
"Wild Flowers" was captured in a mammogram machine. The complete set of images was all styled from fresh produce. The beginning images represent the growth and destruction of cancer. They are subtly grotesques yet intriguing, leaving most viewers guessing the format and subjects. This last image of the set, "Wild Flowers," represents new life and growth after a battle with cancer. A color bouquet reduced to grey and white fibers against the purest black still evoke life's energy. This set begs for an answer as to why the science of nutrition is ignored in medicine. Inspired by my mother, who had a brutal battle with lung cancer and never smoked a cigarette in her life. Thankfully she won.
