Fine Art: Honorable Mention 2022 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Eye of Horus in its provocative close-up realism presents the rendition of an eye, as physiognomic feature of an animal. It focuses on how emotionally charged the gaze is, on the opalescent play of the grayscale of the eye and the textures of the inky fur. It alludes to the symbolism of the eye as an allegorical organ of insight, the search for wisdom and the reflection of the soul. appears The understanding of the eye as a form of a protection amulet can be tracked back to the ancient hieroglyphs. This image encapsulates the all-seeing eye of Horus, embodied in Anubis as the guardian of the afterlife.
