ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Darkness vs. light. Emptiness vs. life. KURENT is the ancient, traditional mask, found in a small area of Slovenia, around Ptuj. Protected as an important part of world cultural heritage by Unesco. Kurent is thought to bring light and fertility back into land, after a long winter. After the kurent dance, the tree will wake up from winter sleep and start a new circle of fertility, of life.
