Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2022 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
A gorgeous and dramatic waterfall located within Kosciuszko National Park, NSW Australia. It's situated within a gorge of towering limestone cliffs and rushing water, and, when catching it at the right time, is adorned with beams from the afternoon sun. Sixteen river crossings through the alpine river are required for the return trip to photograph this waterfall; however, the cold soaked legs are worth it when the scenery is this beautiful. The monochrome conversion in this scene helped simplify the midday colours perfectly to accentuate the flowing curve of the stream, guiding the eye to the waterfall and towering cliff in the background.
