Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2022 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This photo was taken at a beach in Suffolk where coastal erosion in seen in a very dramatic fashion. The Suffolk coast in the UK is one of the fastest eroding coastlines in western Europe.
This image is of a WWII pillbox which used to stand on the top of the cliff, next to the Martello Tower. Sea defences were built to protect the Martello Tower which is still there but sadly these reminders of the second world war have fallen into the sea and are being washed away.
AUTHOR
I come from a fairly arty family, lots of crafters and makers, and I too have always been drawn to creative arts. Like many people my early career started in industry, but a few years ago I decided to follow my passion and give up my job to follow my passion and study at London College of Printing (University of Arts of London). I love to photograph people and food, but anything can inspire me; beautiful flowers, an ingredient that I am buying to cook a meal or the landscape around me. I also do a bit of screen printing and etching and this often fires my imagination. I take great joy in photographing people; bringing out their personality, humour and spirit in my pictures. Perhaps that’s a genuine affinity with my clients and desire to make them look their very best. Whatever the reason, I'm never happier than when I'm behind the lens.
