ENTRY DESCRIPTION
The black woodpecker looks like a mysterious figure from a suspense movie, sitting in its tree with shadows that resemble a long black cloak.
The photo is taken in Horst-Melderslo, in the province of Limburg, in the south of the Netherlands. Every year a couple of black woodpeckers has a nest in the same tree. From a distance I like to observe them and take pictures with my telephoto lens.
