ENTRY DESCRIPTION
What does it mean to be born? A beginning without an end. Or a new beginning, which always involves saying goodbye to something old. And how many times do we give birth to ourselves in the course of a lifetime? Shed the old skin, breathe in the first fresh breath, enter a new phase of this one existence, that was given to us. Something we call life. Amidst all this inconsistency.

Kathrin Kolbow is a german artist, that was born in April 1987. She studied photography at Fotoakademie Koeln. Her main medium is photography. Besides that, she loves to write.

In the artistic works of Kathrin Kolbow one often finds oneself in the gray areas of human existence and the strange worlds of fantasy. The photographic focus here lies in the subliminal conveyance of information and feelings. In this way, far removed from commercial influences, the photographer creates pictorial worlds whose themes often deal with things for which there are seldom the right words anyway.
