Portrait: Honorable Mention 2022 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
After a frustrating morning of uninspired photography at New York's Easter Hat Parade, my wife and I stopped at a Hell's Kitchen bar for a drink on the way home. We hadn't been there long when this group arrived in party mode. They looked fabulous and I could not let them get away without getting a portrait. They were more than happy to oblige and I got this terrific photo of them.
AUTHOR
I am an Australian journalist and photographer currently based in New York City. I have lived and worked in the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Cook Islands and the United States. Much of my work is travel photography for my online touring guide called TikiTouring.com, although I enjoy serious news photoessays to shine a light on things people don't, or won't, see. My current project is documenting the homeless in Manhattan.
