ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This image is a self-portrait. It's from an on-going series titled "Wild: Coming Home." It follows my journey of finding my way back to my wild, true nature. With such strict cultural expectations of who we are supposed to be, how we are supposed to look, and what we are supposed to consume, we often lose ourselves. This image is me, a 40-year-old woman, with bubble gum on my face.

AUTHOR
I've been shooting ever since my mom gave me her old Pentax Spotmatic on my sixteenth birthday. I enjoy both analog and digital photography. While I love compositing an interesting scene in Photoshop, I find it very exciting to process my own film and make prints in the darkroom. I consider myself to be a fine art and commercial photographer and find inspiration in many different places. My body of work consists mostly of portraits, food and product photography. But I also love what I can do with my little Holga. My goal is to make images that provoke the viewer to feel something. Whether it's the excitement of captured motion, the drama and sensuality of textures or the desire to taste a mouth-watering plate of food, I want the audience to look at my photograph and feel it in their gut.
