ENTRY DESCRIPTION
I saw a woman on the streets of Taipei, Taiwan dressed in traditional garb smoking and snapped this photo. I later learned her name was Lydia and she was waiting to meet her friend for a photoshoot. We got to talking and became friends after, trading stories about life in Taiwan.

AUTHOR
I was born in 1987 in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. I grew up in a lower working class family —often struggling with ADD, depression, and social anxiety as a kid. At 21 I joined the military and then used the GI bill to study TV production at The University of South Florida where I graduated Cum Laude.I passed on the opportunity to work for Fox Sports Florida and instead took off to Taiwan in February 2014 to pursue photography. Since then my work has been used in most major news publications and gone viral all over the web because I give most of it away for free on Unsplash. I do mostly photography, but have expanded into other domains such as Twitch, YouTube, blogging, and meme-writing.I enjoy street photography because I find it theraputic. It allows me to escape my own dark-filtered lens, and see both the beauty and the defects of the world clearly through my camera. Welcome to my site and I hope you enjoy my work!
