Wildlife: Honorable Mention 2022 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
I have been working in Africa on my second book that will be also published by Teneues, similar length to my Horses of Iceland Book 260 photographs and five years in the works.
It's so hard to choose one image considering how subjective it is and they are all so different and powerful in their now way. I will just submit an image that touches my heart personally.
Considering how many of us photographers are using camera traps and photographing with cameras on the ground I deduced to submit a photo taken the most traditional way, hand held in Etosha national park. (I gave the before and after to show) this family of three was crossing the deserted lands of Etosha walking in line behind mom, I was lucky enough to find a dirt road (I was driving the car myself) and stopped right in front of them; mom was chewing, she stopped and her two babies split to each side, its the most perfect picture I could have ever dream of with mom's tail going to once side and her mouth on the opposite direction, this photo was a gift to me from my first trip to Africa; doing a solo trip, driving myself as a twenty plus year old in Africa.
“Among the Living, where you belong” my second book published by Teneues will be released in 2023 "Family in Etosha" will be in the book.
