I have seen and been fortunate to have experienced mother’s love. But this image surpasses my understanding. This amazing & heartwarming shot was taken during my lunch break of my game drive at Yala National Park in Sri Lanka. This portrait expresses the bond & trust between the baby and mother. Safe in the arms of its mother, the baby Toque macaque is quenching its thirst. The strong clutch of its mother makes its surrounding safe and comfortable and clearly describes the unconditional love of a mother.

I'm Avanka Fernando a professional in the field of Education in Sri Lanka. Wildlife photography is my favorite hobby which I really enjoy. I have been involved in wildlife photography for the past 9-10 years but I was able to invest more time and commitment from around 2016 onwards.
