Architecture: Honorable Mention 2023 (amateur)
AUTHOR
I bought my first DSLR camera in Jan 2010, a Canon 500D, having previously only owned a cheap point-and-shoot which would only get taken out of the cupboard for the obligatory wedding and holiday snaps. I always wanted to learn photography and produce better images than just snaps with everything in focus. My dad was a keen photographer and taught me the basics about F numbers, exposure, composition etc. when I was maybe 11 years old. Sadly, my dad passed away in 2003. I always said that I would give it a go one day. In 2009 I got married and it was when sourcing a wedding photographer that I rekindled my interest and decided to give it a go.
14 years later and I now completely love photography.
I especially love black and white photography and the feeling you get when you see a potential image and can imagine the final result in monochrome. Looking at the world in monochrome make you see things very differently.
