ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Since my teenage years, I have been fascinated by the romantic and dreamlike art of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. Visiting Pre-Raphaelite exhibitions around the world, I wanted to translate that feeling of dark, otherworldly, and mystical state that I experienced through their art onto my photography.
This photo was taken by the river in Cambridge on one of the last warm summer days.
Effects on photos from this series were not manipulated in Photoshop, as they were done with actual physical props.

AUTHOR
I am an emerging photographer originally from Ukraine. In 2023, because of the war in my country, I relocated to Cambridge, where I am currently based. Photography is a profound passion of mine that I pursue in my free time. In my photography, I delve into the deeper and darker narratives of dreams, illusions, and the subconscious. My photographs aim to evoke a sense of mystery and introspection, encouraging viewers to explore hidden layers of their own minds.
Since I was a young teenager, I would spend hours in art galleries all over Europe, and as a consequence - my work is deeply influenced by Northern and Italian Renaissance art, and by Pre-Raphaelite brotherhood movement.
