A Wednesday afternoon, with few tourists roaming the historic streets of Greenwich Village, an artist has set up his easle to paint in relative solitude on Barrow Street, New York City.

The photographer Cate Franklyn’s photographic story began when she moved back to her old neighborhood of Astoria Queens, New York. With camera in hand she continues to rediscover the beauty of the urban landscape of her youth and newly discovering its dynamic redevelopment. She captures images of the ordinary and makes them extraordinary as seen through her urban eyes.
