AUTHOR
Photography has been a constant companion in my spare time since my youth. Over decades I have gained a lot of experience, first in the analogue field with all the steps from shooting, film development and darkroom work to the exhibition-ready image.
The main focus of my work at that time was already black and white photography and here in particular b/w infrared photography. After the introduction of modern digital photography I enthusiastically switched to this medium and now make use of many new processing possibilities that one could only dream of in analogue times. Black and white is still my preferred genre, but increasingly I also enjoy colour image processing with creative programs. One focus of my current work is b/w macro photography, where I try to bring out new perspectives of little known "wonders of nature".
Portfolios and single images of my work have been published in a number of photo magazines and books at home and abroad.
For many years I have successfully participated in national and international photo salons and a number of my works have won awards at exhibitions worldwide.
In 2017 I was appointed to the German Photographic Society (DGPh).
A great success in 2018 was the award of the title of Master Photographer of the Fédération Internationale de l'Art Photographique (MFIAP) for a b/w photo series about the Easter Island Rapa Nui.
In 2019 I was able to win 1st place in the Sports category at the prestigious SPIDER AWARDS with the b/w image "Shadow Play" and in February 2020 I was awarded the German National Award at the Sony World Photography Awards (SWPA) for the photo "Funfair".
