ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Before dawn, it was a sleepless night, and altitude sickness was unforgiving. The sunrise was approaching, sore and half-conscious, I stepped outside. A gust of cold air somewhat awakened my numbed senses, and the sight of alpine peaks emerging from the darkness took my breath away. As the first rays of the sun began to caress the alpine summits, I already had the frame planned in my mind. I knew I wanted to capture this photograph with a telephoto lens and that it would be in black and white tones.
