Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2023 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Two piles of gravel on the riverside in Cleveland. Completely barren, apart from the bird on one of them. The contrasting peaks make you think of pyramids in Egypt, or mountains in Europe...a way in which post-industrial Cleveland relates to the wider world
AUTHOR
I am currently Chair of the City of London & Cripplegate Photographic Society with the aim of helping members of all experience levels to improve their technical and creative abilities – this is achieved through a programme of learning experiences and inspiring speakers. I currently have a solo exhibition of my ‘Four seasons with the longhorn cattle of Epping Forest’ photographs which began in March 2024 at the City of London Epping Forest Visitor Centre and is now being shown at the High Beech Visitor Centre. Previously I have had photographs exhibited at the Barbican in London, and the Glasgow Gallery of Photography and Lauderdale House. In 2024 I had photographs exhibited as part of the North Chingford Art Trail, The Epping Forest annual exhibition and also the Brighton Photo Fringe and have had honourable mentions in the Minimalist Awards, and the Monochrome Awards. In addition to creating my own images I am an EAF accredited photographic competition judge and run occasional workshops for young people introducing them to the joys of photography.
