Finney-Lorraine-Winter Trees In Isolation by Lorraine Finney (United Kingdom)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
I had planned to visit my favourite group of trees in the snow. It was cold, windy and snowing heavily. I walked to my desired spot where I had separation from surrounding hedges and other trees. It was such a beautiful intimate moment alone in the landscape gazing at the copse before me. The trees stood proud at the top of a gentle slope, elegant, bare and displaying every branch to the elements, while a soft line of grass formed an arc for the base of the trees to rest on. I really enjoyed the minimalistic composition of this winter landscape.
This shot was taken in January 2021 in Hampshire,UK, I really enjoy taking photographs of trees in the winter as the structure of the trees are accentuated, especially in the snow.
AUTHOR
I’m Lorraine Finney(LSINWP), an award winning Fine Art Landscape Photographer, based in Bournemouth, Dorset. When my children flew the nest, I was encouraged to follow my heart by studying at the Institute of Photography. This led to becoming a member of the RPS and SWPP, gaining my Licentiateship and I am now planning on my Associate this year. I set up my website on International Womens Day 2018 to showcase my work to a wider audience. It has been a challenging and fascinating journey as I have developed my skills and my personal style. The support and encouragement of fellow professionals has been invaluable as have the friendships made whilst on workshops or at the SWPP annual convention. Achieving three hangings in the gallery alongside so many talented photographers was confirmation for me that I am on the right track.
