ENTRY DESCRIPTION
'BW Cloud' photo was created this winter 2023 in the Nordfjorden, Norway.
It was excellent conditions and atmosphere - no wind, beatuful winter sunset. My attention was drawn to a magical and incredible cloud, frozen for a moment above the Norwegian sea. There was no need to much time to pick up my tripod and camera to take this image. I used a long exposure technique to make layers on the water and cloud smoother, and to keep mountains in the background clear and textured.

Hello, my name is Alena. Let me say a few words about my passion - photography.

I remember when I was young, spending my summers in the countryside where my grandparents lived. Our house had many black and white photos, portraits on the wall, and albums. It was important to collect the images to tell our family's story and preserve it for other generations.

Photography became a main part of my life. That gives me the opportunity to create and express myself. It is my passion. The camera allows for capturing color, light, and objects, but the photographer decides what is important, and how to combine it to create something unique that is related to the moment or describes atmosphere and mood.

For me, the most important thing is the opportunity to explore different locations, nature, and be in different weather conditions. I enjoy shooting landscapes, fine art. I admire minimalism, monochrome, long exposure. My favorite time for shooting is in the early morning. The top locations are Norway, Iceland, France.
